Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals – 2025

I love games, and I love Star Wars! The first Star Wars minis game I got into was Armada back in 2017. Since then I also got into Legion and now Shatterpoint. With all games I’ve played I love the competitive side. I hate when people set up “fun” and “competitive” as opposites because they don't have to be. For me they go together and I’m sure I’m not alone in that.

Well, another Adepticon has come and gone. This year there were even a couple twists! Not only was the event held in Milwaukee now, the AMG panel was held on Friday night rather than Sunday lunch. The panel offered insight into the next year-ish of for AMG’s games, but for this article I’m only interested in the Shatterpoint reveals!

Let’s go through these in the same order as the presentation:

Store Kits

The first thing discussed was kits, and not the Fisto kind! Of course, he is featured prominently in the prize support. Support for store play will be a big focus in the upcoming year, which I think is great news. I mean, I’d play Shatterpoint no matter what, but I can’t deny prize support helps drive turnout.

For the league kit, it was said that the prizing will be the same for all players except for the top 4 getting a special stamp on the cards. The champion will receive a plastic stance card – which I guess means not all players actually get the same prizing? It was a bit unclear. Regardless, as someone who puts their unit cards in sleeves/toploaders, I don’t think missing out on a plastic stat card is a big deal. The fancy order cards look nice!

The plan is three league kits per year while the tournament kits are a bit longer term with one or two per year. Those red dice really catch my eye!

This is Rogue One

Unfortunately, we didn’t really get any card reveals during the presentation. However, eagled-eyed readers may notice a Jyn card in the previous section. As such, we know that she bring 8sp and three force. However, a Baze and Chirrut unit card was a participation prize for the worlds event, so we didn’t get some spoilers there:

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 4

As a rebel enjoyer, these guys excite me A LOT. Force refresh for doing nothing is a great tactic, especially since it can give more force once they’re wounded (and will thus need it more). Their active ability give a flexible move option of two dashes or one reposition depending on their stance. An important note is that they come in at 5pc, so on the expensive end of supports.

The innate Guardians of the Whills ability is the wildest part. They’ll gain bonuses based on their stance plus a free focus action when they flip stances. This means they can reliably roll +2 dice when attacking, provided they are making a ranged or melee attack, as appropriate. Steadfast definitely seems better than Cover 1, but we’ll also have to see the defensive profiles and trees for each stance to really know what the plays are. I feel like I’ll often want to start in I am One With the Force to dash both, then hopefully close to melee and flip to The Force Is With Me to attack and end with Steadfast. I think managing stances will be a big part of playing these guys and should provide some good avenues for skill expression.

He’s Praying for the Door to Open seems extremely situational, but potentially useful. Removing control from an opponent could be quite handy, and spending a force to gain momentum may be an OK deal in some circumstances. However, I don’t know how often they’ll both be contesting the same objective where there is a tie.

These guys seem tailor-made for Cassian, despite their lack of the Spy tag. He wants more force, he has 9sp so you don’t have to take a 3pc unit (though you do have to drop K2, of course Baze and Chirrut could go in the other squad) and they have easy access to focus actions for even more extra dice on the Shatterpoint turn. I won’t complain, that seems like a thematic synergy!

Outer Rim Outpost

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 5

I don’t want to be too negative, but I reeeeeally don’t like the look of that tower. Aesthetically, its nice. Gameplay-wise, I have some concerns. The sloped nature of the sides may render shoves ineffective if the width is more than range 1. The flat part at the top doesn’t seem that big, either, meaning it could potentially be body blocked by one or two models. I will hold judgement until I see the real thing, but I am worried.

On the other hand, I’m actually a fan of the crate pile. Specifically, it could open up split-level scenarios for contesting objectives, which I think are underutilized in table construction currently. Specifically, if you have an objective on these crates near, say, a gantry, then it could be contested both from ground level and from the gantry, which can create interesting scenarios.

Delta Squad, Form Up

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 6

Unfortunately, no cards were spoiled for the hotly anticipated Delta squad. However, we did get some hints for their abilities. Apparently, Delta Squad has been designed to make all the clones really sing, which sounds exciting. I’m sure many people are eagerly awaiting the day they can run Delta Squad alongside the Bad Batch. Furthermore, it was said that Delta squad have lots of abilities that work with regular clones, but better for clone commandos. This could be big news for Cody and Republic Clone Commandos, who are kind of struggling at the moment.

Unfortunately, these guys have also experienced some major delays. Initially slotted for Q2, the box was pushed back to July, then now to Q4. It’s sad that we’ll have to wait, but hopefully it’ll be worth it.

Terror From Below

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 7

Having now seen these models in-person, I can confirm that aqua droids are GINORMOUS (and I love it). Riff is also pretty big, not gonna lie. We don’t know much here, but apparently Riff has some “death from below” attacks and lots of stuff with jumps and elevation changes. That sounds encouraging since elevation is something Separatists can struggle with. Nossor Ri reportedly utilizes some “underhanded tactics” and the box boasts the Aquatic keyword. It’s worth noting that Kit Fisto and Nahdar Vebb also have this keyword, so maaaaybe there is room for some cross-faction lists here? Could be cool!

Much like Delta Squad, this box has been pushed back to Q4. It’s especially sad because Separatists have severely lacked for recent releases.

Secure the Future

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 8

Finally, something a box we hadn’t seen before! This one got a big cheer from the crowd. The models look great, and more units in the New Republic era will really help flesh things out. It was hinted that Baylan has some hunker shenanigans (the “most unique since Obi-Wan” was the quote, I believe), which has me eyeing up a Baylan/Leia pairing. I’m a noted fan of Knowledge and Defense, so new and exciting ways to use hunkers sounds great. Rebels particularly have great hunker generation, but not many ways to use them. Shin Hati was apparently a menace in playtest, but hopefully lessons were learned and her final version will be nice and balanced.

This box (and the next) are currently slated for Q2 2026, so we’re looking at a year-plus until they hit shelves.

My Loyalty, My Life

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 9

Another pack from the Ahsoka show, it only made sense that we’d see Morgan, Enoch & Co. The big design question here was “How do you make zombies in the game?” and apparently the answer involves some weird ways to play with the wound mechanic. Very interesting! Also, big base storms! I’m sure Dathomirian players will be thrilled to expand their roster a bit.

It was also stated that Morgan’s mini will have some customization options, allowing you to assemble her more or less Dathomirian-y.

Rebalance

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 10

While we don’t have that many new releases in the next year, the May rebalance should bring new life to a lot of old ones. A lot was mentioned here, so I’ll do a quick recap list on the updated units:

  • The first year or so of releases were reviewed for rebalance
  • The update will be available for free as a print-and-play
  • Mace is confirmed to be a 7sp primary
  • Mace’s Shatterpoint ability has been reworked to do something on every Shatterpoint, whether or not he is chosen to activate. The new abilities should also be more impactful
  • Anakin went through a lot of discussion to get to a point that everyone was happy with
  • Anakin now has a ranged attack (Force Blast was mentioned)
  • This is Where the Fun Begins no longer needs to target the same unit as the initial attack
  • Ahsoka is quite scary now
  • Fourth Sister, 501st, and 212th are among some other units getting a bump
  • Some high-performers were also looked at – Vader1 was named, someone in the crowd asked about Iden and the response was “maybe”

Timeline & Other Notes

Shatterpoint Adepticon Reveals - 2025 11

It’s a bit sparse compared to MCP and Legion, but I don’t want to speculate here on the reasons…

Editor’s Note: Very responsible of you, Matt, but you don’t have to! I asked Will Shick himself about this in an interview that will air as soon as I finish my personal struggle to edit the somewhat janky sound in it. He said that while the need to devote factory floor space to the incredibly massive re-launch that is being undertaken with Legion is playing at least some part in things, Shatterpoint players should also know that the release schedule of the first year was intentionally on overdrive and that the ongoing schedule will be somewhat closer to what we see here, though the impression I got is that it may pick up slightly more again when Legion is more settled. Still, it should be noted that if you don’t count re-releases, Shatterpoint is still getting more boxes of product than Legion is this year lest this knowledge foment any kind of anger against AMG’s other brands or something. Ok, back to Matt, who was the runner-up in Worlds by the way, humble scamp that he is for not mentioning it at the top of this article…

However, the rebalance in May should make it feel like we have a bunch of new units, and hopefully opens up the meta quite a bit. There will also be a continued focus on different ways to play, such as new missions, Key Operations, and the new Galactic Legends mode, which had another public playtest session at Adepticon.

Overall, it’s disappointing to see so many releases continually pushed back, but the stuff that is coming all sounds and looks very exciting. I am choosing to stay optimistic and think the next 12 months of Shatterpoint will be a great time!
