Drumroll please. Drumroll…

(Hint go DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD as loud as possible for as long as possible).

With my “Diploma” from Doc still fresh on my mind and the coming of the holiday season, I wanted to make sure there was something really special planned for this next article! “JOYYYYYY TO THE WORLD… DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD”

Well, I’m sorry to disappoint, but there’s nothing special about this one at all and you really should stop reading these if you have any sense left. I mean seriously, the amount of crap we come up with it’s a wonder we haven’t gotten into the cow manure business… We would make a fortune! Sure does sound swell, isn’t that right Eddie?

Wait, Cousin Eddie???

See, look I’m making references to a movie that has absolutely nothing in common with Legion, and you the distinguished Legionnaire you are, here you are reading it… MAKE IT MAKE SENSE. If only I had that money Olivia (my wife, who I hope never reads this nonsense of an article Agreed-Doc) and I gave to that tv preacher. Then I wouldn’t have to do this job for the mere pennies Jay pays us every year…Anyways, I guess since we’re here I’ll explain why I’m making Christmas Vacation references in a Legion article.

Why I Do What I Do

Because I can. Jay also doesn’t read these things, so let’s see if we can keep that going through the New Year.

So, When Did You Get The Tenement On Wheels Just What Hell Is This Article?

That there, is an RV AA5. I Borrowed it off a buddy of mine. He took my house, and I took the RV AA5. It’s a good lookin’ vehicle ain’t it? I’ll try to make this the last forced quote that has nothing to do with Legion, I promise…I’m making a Christmas list to Santa AMG and what better way to do it than by also referencing one of the most iconic Christmas movies of all time?!

I’ve ordered each item on the list from least desired to most, so without further adieu let’s jump into my Legion Christmas Wish-List.

Tis the season to be Merry! No, not her…

Bottom of the List:

Dear Santa AMG,

The following are things I would like to see in Legion, but not necessarily needs. If you have extra time this Christmas season, these would be cool to see added to the game. I will separate them into two categories: new additions, and updates to existing units/components.

New Additions

It would be cool to see some of the secondary characters in Rogue One added to the game. Baze and Chirrut both have unique identities, and also add compelling elements of surprise to the film. I can only imagine they’d do the same for Legion. They’d obviously be Operatives, and perhaps even Chirut would have a singular force upgrade slot. He is one with the force after all.

There’s definitely an over-saturation of unique characters, but I’d also like to see the inclusion of Saw Guerra, “his band of fanatics” and Bodhi Rook. I can’t shake this feeling that these would be the most appropriate units to introduce new keywords focused on free move or objective actions after an attack action. Call it, guerilla tactics. I can just picture it now Santa AMG Clause. Saw and his fanatics able to traverse the battlefield like the rogue warriors they are, but maybe they can’t use their keyword if they spent an aim or any other tokens during their activation. That truly feels like a graceful way to round out all of the Rogue one characters and it would be a blessing. Speaking of which, I think Aunt Bethany has something to say about that?

While we’re on the topic of over-saturation of unique characters, let’s add one more to the mix! The Heir to the Empire himself, Grand Admiral Thrawn! I understand he’s an Admiral, but he’s also been known to lead ground forces from time to time. He’s not the most desired unit for me, but I still would be happy to see him added and this is why he’s at the bottom of the list.

Updates to Existing Units/Components

“You pretty set as far as shopping list building goes?”

Well, can’t lie to you Clark AMG. Truth is, things a’int going too good at all. You know I told you I borrowed that AA5 from my neighbor? It’s mine. We live in it…

I would personally love it if we either got a Rebel battle force that allowed for 3 AA5s to be included in your list. I would 100% purchase a third and paint it like this.

I would also like to see Emperor Palpatine get somewhat of a tune-up. Perhaps the ability to cycle his 2 and 3 pip, then maybe a little flavor text to his 3 pip just to keep the pace with Yoda, but that’s about it here.

Middle of the List:

New Additions

My favorite vehicle on this list, is none other than the IG 227 Hailfire-Class Droid Tank. For those asking, this is what it looks like:

There’s A LOT of potential for different types of weapons and keywords on this bad boy. I won’t really dive into what I would do if I were designing this unit, but I will say the missiles it fires are probably the most unique aspect of it. I’d add a keyword something along the lines of, “Hailfire: if an attack using this weapon deals a wound, deal an additional wound to the defending unit.”

Up next, we have our favorite Rebel spies who died for some really important information regarding a Death Star. Bothans! They seem like the perfect unit to round out the Rebels’ arsenal. They’d probably be a special forces unit, and they would most definitely have Incognito and some cool close range weapon options.

Updates to Existing Units/Components

Behold, the most important and desired unit update on this list: A Grievous update! There’s so much more that can be done with him than just changing points! He could see the addition of at least two, if not three new command cards. He should have a similar mechanic to Dekas where he can go into “scurry” mode. Here’s a visual to help explain my point:

Clark AMG, I’d like to try and fumigate this here chair unit, it’s a good quality item.”

I’d imagine it would be similar in that he can’t attack in this mode, but he gains Dauntless and makes his maximum speed 3. I think it would be fair if he could also flip back to regular mode at any point during his activation.

More official terrain packs would also be awesome! Crashed Arc-170s, Downed Skiffs, and Downed Laat’s are some of the main ones that pop to mind. Gee, would be cool if these become a thing. Please and thanks Santa AMG.

Top of the List:

NEW ADDITIONS

Mace Windu is probably the MOST iconic character that is missing from Legion, period. Oh Santa AMG if I woke up tomorrow with my head sewn to the carpet, I wouldn’t be more surprised than I would if Mace was announced before the end of the year. He truly has the potential to be a unique and dynamic unit!

Jango Fett is probably the SECOND most iconic character missing from Legion. His son is in it (twice), so what’s papa gotta do to get involved?! He’s the true “Simple Man,” just trying to make his way in the galaxy. I can totally see Jango being a slightly more combat proficient version of his son, so he would definitely have the Gunslinger keyword and perhaps even a better jetpack rocket.

“If this gets dented severed, then my hair just ain’t gonna sit right.”

Ki-Adi Mundi and the Galactic Marines are the last units that I’d like to see under the tree on December 25th! The Marines would be an awesome Corps unit option, and they honestly don’t need to be that much different than P1s and P2s, just maybe more offensively efficient and slightly more expensive than P2s. General potato head would also be a nice Ahsoka + Ani/Obi/Yoda hybrid unit. He’s certainly proved he can lead from the front by charging in potato head first, but he’s also proven he can support his troops and hand out buffs. So how about we buff the presents under the Legion tree this year with Ki-Adi-Mundi and his traitorous-but-only-because-they-were-being-mind-controlled Galactic Marines?

Updates to Existing Units/Components

Ok Santa AMG, if you’re really busy this year, and you can only manage one thing on this hopeful Legion lover’s Christmas list, THIS IS IT… New objective, deployment, and condition options! I would like to see three of each, just to really help round out the options. I can’t tell you how stale it’s starting to become with the same old, KP/Intercept gunline-offs. I love using my ranged weapons, but it’s nice to have a different style of game sometimes. So, yea… This one is the most important!

That’s it Santa AMG, I promise I’ve been a good boy!

Oh and hey, if any of you are looking for any last minute gift ideas for me, I have one: I’d like Frank Shirley Oliver Dier, my boss the guy who knocked me out of World’s 2023, right here tonight. I want him brought from his happy holiday slumber over there on Melody Lane Milton Keynes with all the other rich people, and I want him brought right here! With a big ribbon on his head! Click the link here for the rest, Doc won’t let me post it… Start at 1:40 if you want it to pick up exactly where I left off.
